Could you share briefly about your role in M-DAQ?

I lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to help clients integrate with M-DAQ’s applications and test the applications developed in-house to ensure that all functions work as desired before going into production.

What are some challenges you've faced in your career in tech that you’ve learnt to overcome?

IT is a very male-dominated environment. In a new environment, I have experienced being brushed off and my contributions were overlooked. To overcome these, I needed to be creative with what is within my boundary and what is beyond.

I’ve learnt that I could help more people solve simple issues and build my presence from there. Soon, these people made my capabilities and presence known to a wider audience.

A mentor once told me: If I’ve heard a person's name often in discussions, this person would have caught my attention and made it worth my time and effort to assess his/her abilities.
