Hello! My name is Angel, a soon-to-be graduate from Singapore University of Social Sciences with a Bachelor of Human Resource Management and a minor in Business. My part-time internship as a Human Resources Intern for M-DAQ has been a rewarding experience because I was able to experience real-life work situations while pursing my final semester in school. As a result, it has made my classroom’s theories and learned examples more concrete and significant.

My whole team was very supportive through their words and actions – at the beginning I was given bite-sized tasks to familiarise myself with the work processes I had to use. Furthermore, I was able to freely share my work observations and present suitable recommendations to my HR team.

For someone who wants to go into a similar field or internship, I would strongly advise you to be confident in asking for help and clarification. If my HR supervisor was in a meeting or away, there was always someone available on my team who I could turn to for help. I want to thank Brian and Geraldine for being amazing HR supervisors to me. They have been incredibly patient with me and their confidence in me was my biggest motivator. I am immeasurably grateful to my HR colleagues Sherry and Karen for their unwavering support on any given day at work.

M-DAQ’s work-family culture is considered as one of the biggest perks for a M-DAQer as it builds a strong sense of community among the employees. The company offers many opportunities for me to reach out, network, and build professional connections with people from other departments. I always looked forward to trying out various delicacies brought by our international colleagues while indulging in scrumptious weekly cookouts by the beloved administrative team in our very own kitchen.

Lastly, a big shoutout to my fellow interns who filled my internship experience with lots of joy and laughter. Looking back, joining M-DAQ is one of the best decisions I have made to enhance my skills and employability as it has guided my career aspirations and my toolbox has definitely become much fuller than when I have started.
